Carolina Steel Corporation Scholarship Fund

The following biography was written at the time of this scholarship establishment; some information may not be up to date:

Founded in Greensboro, North Carolina in 1919 as the Carolina Steel and Iron Company, Carolina Steel Corporation has grown from a small, local fabricator of structural steel to an international corporation whose diverse product lines meet the needs of the construction industry.

Carolina Steel Corporation also has a long-standing commitment to education and has particularly been a generous supporter of UNC Greensboro, pledging $50,000 during the University’s first capital campaign, “Prospectus III” in 1982. The Corporation continued its commitment to higher education by donating $75,000 over a three-year period, 1992-1994, to endow the Carolina Steel Corporation Scholarship Fund.
