Carol Klose Crouse Undergraduate Scholarship

Carol Klose Cruse grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina. She knew from a young age that she wanted to study physical education in college, and she knew that Woman’s College (now UNCG) had an outstanding program. She fulfilled her dream of going to Woman’s College and graduated in 1963 with her degree in physical education.
After graduating, Carol taught physical education and biology at Chatham Hall in Chatham, Virginia. Carol decided after three years of teaching to change careers and work in municipal recreation. For the next 28 years, she worked in various administrative positions within Fairfax County, Virginia’s Department of Recreation and Community Services.
In 1994, Carol retired to enjoy a life of leisure and volunteer work with her husband, Tom. Tom and Carol split their time between homes in Alexandria, Virginia and St. Petersburg, Florida. They have two married adult children and three grandsons.
