Professor Nomikos served the University from 1971-86. He was an internationally known set and costume designer who worked for the New York City Center Opera, the Athens Festival of Music and Drama, and the Royal National Theatre of Greece. He was one of the first 12 recipients of the UNCG Theatre Hall of Fame Award. Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1997, he was recognized for his leadership and service to UNCG Theatre, artistry, and high standards in design. Professor Nomikos passed away in 1999.
