Mrs. Amy Myers Rudd ’65 MED was born in Wichita, Kansas to Charles Napoleon and Lucy Davis Myers. She attended Elkin High School, where she graduated as class valedictorian in 1936. She attended Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina, graduating with her bachelor’s degree in home economics and a minor in music.

She continued her education at the Woman’s College (now UNCG) where she received a master’s degree in education. She retired as a guidance counselor from McIver Education Center. She had been a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ since 1959 and served as a Sunday school teacher and member of the choir.

Mrs. Rudd passed away at the age of 83 on July 29, 2002. Her beloved husband, Clyde W. Rudd, passed away on June 5, 2008.
